Project Details
Reliant identified and entered into an underground pore space easement agreement with Rayonier Inc. (NYSE - RYN) in Alabama's remote timberland region. This agreement comprises one of Reliant's carbon sequestration sites known as the Pine Hills Sequestration Hub, and is one of the largest announced carbon sequestration hubs in the United States.
The agreement covers approximately 104,000 acres of timberland in Alabama capable of storing more than 30 million metric tons of CO2 annually, with the ability to expand further. The timberland site is currently owned and managed by Rayonier Inc. as part of their regional timberland investment trust.
Reliant will provide the Pine Hills Sequestration Hub and other key components required to decarbonize heavy industry in this region.
