Project Details
Reliant completed a Front-End Engineering Design Study (FEED) at a large coal-fired power plant in the Southeastern U.S. to evaluate the technical viability, scalability, and cost of carbon capture framework utilizing cryogenic carbon capture technology. The FEED successfully designed a CO2 capture facility capable of ~95% carbon capture with no costs to the power company.
Reliant has contracted with Sargent and Lundy (S&L) to conduct the FEED study leveraging the company’s immense experience in the power generation industry. The FEED study was completed in May 2025 while project development is ongoing.
If the project proceeds, the power plant can continue to operate for its full useful life benefiting local communities that work at the plant and ratepayers that purchase the power. Reliant’s projects aim to sustain baseload power plants that provide jobs to local communities that have worked at these plants for generations.
